Job Summary:

Tribal Member Review Board (TMRB) volunteer are trained volunteers appointed by Tribal Council to review cases of juveniles that are currently wards of the Tribal Court. TMRB volunteers make recommendations to the Judge regarding the best interest of the children in the cases they review.

Essential Functions:

? Complete an intensive independent review of the case materials prior to the TMRB Review hearings by means of the digital case files provided by the Tribal Court Program Coordinator.

? Attend TMRB reviews regularly as assigned to each case.

? Listen to all parties fairly during the review process.

? Review the case with the best interests of the child in mind.

? Make findings and recommendations for the Chief Judge to review based on the information in the case materials and presented at the TMRB review hearing.

? During the review process pay close attention to information regarding education, health, cultural involvement, placement and interaction with family.

? Assess and identify additional services that may be provided to the family to support the case plan and make recommendations to the Chief Judge accordingly.

? Work to create a positive relationship between the child and the Tribe.

? Participate in all scheduled case conferences with Tribal Court Program Coordinator.

? Participate in pre-service and in-service trainings and comply with all training requirements.

? Maintain the confidentiality of the case information including all parties involved. Return case files to program at the close of a case.

? Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:

? Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

? Must be a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.

? Must successfully complete an application and screening process that includes reference checks, background investigation, and interview.

? Must complete a background investigation which includes a social security number verification, Federal and State criminal background investigation, National Sex Offender Registry, and child abuse registry.

? Must complete twenty-four (24) hours of initial training and six (6) hours of training every year thereafter.
